Philip Gallas, a Partner in FisherBroyles’ International Trade group, will be speaking as a panelist on the Section 232 Steel and Aluminum Tariffs that will be held in Washington, D.C. on June 21, 2018. This program, which is being co-sponsored by the D.C. Bar, the ABA Section of International Law, the Customs and International Trade Bar Association, and several other organizations, will feature leading experts who will offer insights on (1) the positive and negative effects for U.S. and foreign producers of covered products, U.S. importers, and downstream-users in key industries such as the construction industry, as well as (2) the impact on relationships with our global trading partners, especially the European Union, Canada, Mexico, and countries in Latin America. The panelists will explore whether the Section 232 tariffs are protecting national security as the underlying statute intends or risking international trade wars.
