Morrissey joins Health and Pharmacy Law Practice

Marty Morrisey, FisherBroyles PartnerFisherBroyles LLP today announced the addition of partner Martin (Marty) B. Morrissey to the firm’s Cleveland office (Toledo Branch). Morrissey joins the firm’s Health and Pharmacy Law Practice Group. He was formerly in-house with Mercy Health as Senior Regional Counsel and General Counsel of St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

Morrissey joins a seasoned team of attorneys who provide counsel to physicians, hospitals, pharmacies and other healthcare providers in regulatory and compliance matters, mergers & acquisitions, corporate and business services, healthcare litigation, and white collar litigation defense in government investigations. Through an integrated service approach, the attorneys work in tandem with colleagues across the firm to provide seamless advice of complex issues and transactional matters in the healthcare industry.

With a concentration in the area of corporate transactional law, Mr. Morrissey has extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly in the healthcare setting. His career as an in-house counsel with large hospital systems has focused on healthcare and hospital law, including drafting and negotiating a wide variety of agreements, particularly those involving physician-hospital relationships. As such, Mr. Morrissey has gained considerable expertise counseling clients on such issues as the Anti-Kickback Law, Stark Law, Non-Profit Law and structuring physician-hospital arrangements to satisfy requirements of fair market value and commercial reasonableness.

Morrissey holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Carleton College and studied philosophy at the University of Leuven, in Leuven, Belgium. He earned his J.D. at the University of Toledo College of Law, graduating cum laude.
