(Dallas, Texas — March 2, 2017) — FisherBroyles, LLP is pleased to announce the addition of partner Gary Lawson to its Dallas office.

Lawson is a pension, executive compensation and transactional lawyer with extensive experience representing government pension systems, businesses and individuals throughout Texas.  His practice focuses on helping companies and government employers attract and retain top talent with competitive compensation and executive compensation plans. He regularly also represents C-Suite officers negotiating their employment and stock ownership agreements.  Lawson has on several occasions also successfully tried substantial employee benefit, plan investment and fiduciary responsibility lawsuits.

A native of New York City (although a long-time resident of Texas), Lawson is a 1970 graduate of the St. John’s University Law School, where he earned his J.D. and New York University Law School, where he earned an LL.M (Masters of Law degree in Taxation).  Lawson was one of the founders of the Dallas Bar Association Employee Benefits Section and was the first Chairman of the then IRS Key District EP/EO Oversight Liaison Council.

In the world of national and local nonprofits, Lawson’s contributions are unparalleled. He served for more than 8 years on the International Advisory Board of Medisend International, which he co-founded in 1989, and was a co-founder and board member of both FIRST in TEXAS and Capt. Hope’s Kids. Having devoted much of his free time after 9/11 to helping veterans and their families around the nation, serving on the boards of and as Chairman of both Snowball Express and the Independence Corps, Lawson recently joined the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Collin County in 2016. Gary is also serving on the Dallas Board of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. In 2014 in recognition of more than a decade of service to our military and their families, Gary was inducted by order of the Secretary of the Army into the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, the famed “Nightstalkers”.
