 FisherBroyles, LLP is pleased to announce that Philip Gallas has joined our International Law Practice group.  Over the course of his 38-year career, Philip has practiced import, export and international trade remedy (antidumping and countervailing duty) law in our nation’s capital.  He began his career in international law as a regulator with U.S. Customs and the Department of Commerce.  He then moved into private practice where he gained experience in national law firms as well as a Big 4 accounting firm. Over the course of his career he has represented domestic and foreign manufacturers and exporters, foreign governments, global retailers, U.S. importers and trade associations. These clients have included manufacturers and importers of all kinds of merchandise including cybersecurity hardware and software, automobiles, aircraft, ball bearings and other steel products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, textiles, apparel, footwear, home furnishings and building materials. His day-to-day practice utilizes his extensive administrative regulatory experience counseling clients before the Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration (ITA), the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), Customs & Border Protection (CBP), Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT), U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC), and Congress.  Philip has also applied his expertise in conducting import and export due diligence for numerous international M&A deals.
